I did finish reading the WONDERFUL Shadowshaper by Daniel José Older. I've been tits-deep in romance lately, so it took me a little bit of work to switch into a more YA-based mindset; I'm incredibly glad I did. Excellent book.
Next up for me is Suddenly One Summer by Julie James. I'm normally very wary of the Enemies-to-Lovers trope, but it's really working for me this time. Victoria and Ford have some very real reasons to be irritated as hell with each other, but also a very realistic reason to need to work together and get over it. I'm about halfway through, and I predict very seriously excellent sexy times in the near future.
This weekend, I'll also be reading a story by Owen Franks, which will be in the upcoming anthology Coffee:Hot from Circlet Press. I get to interview Owen, and can't wait to dive in and find out how he likes his coffee. Stay tuned!
I also bought Courtney Milan's Trial by Desire based on a rec from several people on Twitter when I asked about heroines who are recovering from depression or anxiety. Also recommended were one of Victoria Dahl's new books, and Suleikha Snyder's Bollywood and the Beast.
What are you reading this weekend?
